The Wall Street Journal ran a piece by Elias Schisgall on 2 October 2026 about Jev and the copycats that followed it. In it, TypeSafe CEO Diogo Almeida says Jev is in use by about 25% of Fortune 500 companies and that “we were at a trillion tokens per day about a week ago”. He called the traffic “non-fleeting” because servers, not people, make the calls. According to coverage of the piece (Techmeme, AI Weekly), the WSJ frames the story around copycats, chiefly Cloudflare’s open-weight Clef / Clef-flash, released on 1 October.

Hygiene (UnverifiedClaim). Both traction numbers come from the CEO. As far as the secondary coverage shows, the article does not define “in use” or name customers. We could not read the WSJ article itself (paywall); the quotes above are as reported by Techmeme and others.

What changes here. Not the scores. Jev’s adoption number counts production use from public company posts and cases; a CEO’s tally is a vendor claim. It goes on the Jev page as context.
