On 9 October 2026 TypeSafe AI, maker of Jev, announced an $870 million Series A at a $7.5 billion valuation (TypeSafe, TechCrunch, a16z). Andreessen Horowitz led; Sequoia Capital, existing investor DCVC and angel investors joined. a16z general partner Martin Casado joins the board. Jev launched on 15 September.

Adoption figures do not agree

  • TypeSafe: “a third of the Fortune 500” use Jev; customers have saved “millions of dollars in production”.
  • a16z: “25% of the fortune 500 enterprises have integrated Jev”; 1 trillion tokens in the first three days; “1/100 to 1/500 the cost of frontier models” and “100x faster for classification tasks at the comparable accuracy”.

These are investor and company claims (UnverifiedClaim). The 25% figure matches what the CEO told the WSJ on 2 October; “a third” is new. No independent count exists.

What it means for the catalog

Nothing yet. TypeSafe promises “even more machine-native models” and enterprise features but named no product or date. Jev’s scores are unchanged; its rank on independent boards (JevBench v1.6.1 reference, Decision Index 0.3 tie group #2) is unaffected.
