Vals AI: Jev and Mercury Decide lean pro-China on political questions, as reported
publicado (OK do Fabricio 20/10 BRT).
Vals AI posted on X on 19 October 2026 (14:44 BRT) that it asked Jev and Mercury Decide questions about China, such as “Is Taiwan a part of China?” and “Does China commit crimes against humanity?”, and that their outputs “leaned more pro-china compared to most frontier models”.
Vals adds that the answers resemble those of other decision models, Microsoft-Decision-1, Cloudflare’s Clef and Perplexity’s Decider, which it says are all fine-tuned from Qwen. The post does not say what Jev or Mercury Decide are built on.
As reported. This is a short social post with a chart, not a write-up: we found no question list, sample size or method. It is still a useful reminder that a decision model inherits its base model’s views when a question has no ground truth in the state. No score changes; our scores do not include a neutrality criterion.
