classifier.dev is a hosted wrapper over the Jev API, providing HTTP, CLI, and MCP interfaces with added convenience features.
What it does
classifier.dev wraps Jev (jev-1.13.0) with:
- HTTP API: Simple REST interface
- CLI: Command-line tool for quick classification
- MCP: Model Context Protocol integration
- Smart escalation: Uncertain cases can escalate to a reasoning LLM
Why it’s listed here (not in Models)
classifier.dev is purely a wrapper:
- Does not run its own model
- All decisions come from hosted Jev
- Adds convenience, not capability
It’s an ecosystem tool, not a decision model.
Smart escalation
The “fast = Jev, smart = reasoning LM” pattern:
- Low-uncertainty decisions → Jev response
- High-uncertainty cases → Escalate to a larger reasoning model
This is a dual-process pattern, not a model capability.
